Got one of these from a local supermarket for £229. Got it home, switched it on and everything worked with no problems. Very easy installation. The DVD player was region 2 but a simple code on the DVD no disc screen (9735) soon fixed that! Very good picture quality with lots of features. The only drawback is that you are supposed to keep all the packaging in case anythng goes wrong. If not the guarantee may not be honoured. I think they should read the consumer rights legislation before making such a statement.

Samsung SAMSUNG LE19R88BD HD/IDTV
My advice - look elsewhere if you want good HDMI picture quality! Why? Oh my, the stuttering! Goodness knows what Samsung were thinking when they released this TV. Don't they test their products? I got this TV specificly to watch upscaled DVD from a Philips player but the HD input is terrible with horrendous stuttering. Indeed, the first starship fly in on Star Wars Phantom Menace looked like someone keeps stamping on the brakes. After trying the TV with two other players (Wharfedale & Dual) I have come to the conclusion that it is definitely the TV - particularly as scrolling banners on QVC also stutter. The only solution is to use the component connectors (YUV) which defeats the object and is unsatisfactory for a TV by a maker such as Samsung. I shall use this TV unitl it until it dies but will not be purchasing Samsung in the future as I find I cannot trust any company who can deliberately release a product with an obvious and glaring design fault (er, sorry, "feature")
